St. Pat's / Spring Training

With a little help from the sauce, we had a killer St. Patrick's Day Party.  And, Spring Training.

I had this St. Patrick's Day party last weekend.
I had some people over.
We had beef and potatoes and cabbage.
And, you know, when I have people over I begin the meal
I'm like, "Hey you guys, do you want Hoppin Hot Sauce?"
They're all, "Yeah!"
I'm like, "What flavor do you want?
"Do you want original flavor or do you want extra hot?"
They're like, "Both, we want both!!"

Are you ready to throw some killer parties this year?
In the meantime, spring training has begun.

JOHN HOPPIN: It's that time again.
It's The Pepper Show, welcome to The Pepper Show.
This time, I have a Saint Patrick's Day party
and spring training begins.
The best hot sauce in the world,
let's open it up with that Hoppin Hot Sauce.
It's the movement you can get in tune with it at
hoppinhotsauce.com
But first, rest in peace Dick Dale.
Rest in peace Dick Dale, the king of the surf guitar,
Fender built Dick Dale
it's first ever-- custom built him a 100 watt amplifier.
He said, "There was a tremendous amount of power
"I felt while surfing and that feeling of power was
"simply transferred into my guitar."
So, rest in peace Dick Dale.
You know and I'm like, "What flavor do you want?
"Do you want original flavor or do you want extra hot?"
They're like, "Both, we want both!"
So, people like Hoppin Hot Sauce around here.
I have it, so we have it.
We put it on everything, on the pot roast
and on the potatoes and on the cabbage.
It's kind of interesting,
I made the cabbage, it's really boiled sauerkraut
and I used this book;
I've been cooking from it for about 20 years,
or I mean what, 19 years.
It's called La Bonne Cuisine and it's by this lady,
Madame E. Saint-Ange and it's translated
by a Paul Aratow, who founded Chez Panisse
in 1970 with Alice Waters.
And it's kind of interesting,
I have this recipe for cooking sauerkraut really slow,
you kind of boil it for a long time and it said,
I've always liked this recipe because of what it says here,
It says, "The cooking time for sauerkraut need not be
"closely observed.
"In families in Eastern Europe
"where this is a standard recipe,
"they estimate that up to five hours is needed
"to ensure the perfect digestibility of the cabbage."
I've always liked that idea
that the food is perfectly digestible.
So we cooked it for a long time.
It was perfectly, everything was perfectly digestible.
We put Hoppin Hot Sauce on everything, both flavors,
and it was perfectly digestible.
And the moral of the story is,
if you're having a party,
you should certainly offer your guests both flavors
of Hoppin Hot Sauce.
They want both flavors!
And as a host you're always looking for that thing,
that edge, putting you over the top,
Hoppin Hot Sauce all day.
Spring training has begun.
Spring training is under way.
Pitchers and catchers and fielders and hitters,
they're all running around in Florida and Arizona.
